Workgroup Charter

Our Refugee Management WG team is committed to enhancing refugee and displaced persons’ processing and safeguarding of their information. The goal is to ensure secure and unalterable handling of personal data, even in globally permissive environments. To provide refugees and displaced persons access to their information, the status of processing, and logistics support via modernized Web3 distributed processing.

Key Indicators

Transparency

The demo's maturity will be geared toward bringing transparency to the processing system, helping refugees understand their status, access their information, and intelligently share their information.

Security

Our demo will showcase secure data handling and communication protocols to ensure that refugees’ sensitive information remains protected from cradle to grave on government systems.

Cost-Effectiveness

The summary paper will highlight cost-saving measures and efficiencies gained by web3-enabled micro-apps tied to a worldwide distributed ledger system.

Improved Services

We will integrate innovative technologies to enhance possible services such as language translation, medical assistance, and community support.

Future Web3 Capabilities

Stargazer Wallet

Innovative Web3 wallet app that can securely house digitized documents for refugees and displaced individuals as Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). Essential records such as vaccinations, approval certificates, and letters of transit can now be safely converted into NFTs, ensuring their integrity, and accessibility worldwide, with user-controlled sharing. Stargazer offers three distinct versions to cater to diverse needs, is fully compatible with a wide range of smartphone devices and is cross-chain compatible.

Key Deliverables and Their Importance

We will deliver a summary paper and a demo, highlighting the construction of a secure, untethered in-take system using Web3 overlays. This system, designed for global refugee or displaced persons processing, will feature micro-apps and will ensure data immutability.
Our working group is dedicated to modernizing data management and intelligent sharing among processing partners and refugees. Secure edge processing technology expedites the relocation process of refugees to safe environments, enabling them to rebuild their lives and reunite with their families.
Cutting-edge technologies like Web3 (micro-apps), digital ledgers, data sharding, and edge encryption upgradeable with post-quantum addons. The goal is to build a resilient and cost-effective prototype for refugee and displaced persons in-processing and secure status communication.
We are bringing together passionate experts in technology and refugee processing within the NDF incubator system. We will create a working prototype demo and a summary paper that outlines how integrated technologies can positively affect a refugees’ or displaced persons’ journey.
